Groups

What do you think is best for putting groups together?  Do you go through ahead of time and put them together, taking each student into consideration?  Or do you allow them to form their own groups?  Or do you do it randomly?

    It depends on the project. If we are grouping up for playing a game, then I allow them to pick their groups. If it is an actual group project, then I select their groups. I try to create a mix of different personalities and abilities, because in real life you don't always get to pick who you are working with.
